Take Five Sheet Music

Take Five Sheet Music
also known as Take 5 Sheet Music

The sheet music for Take Five written by Dave Brubeck, is available below.

Take Five was actually written by Paul Desmond (with a little help from Dave Brubeck), but the songs is always widely associated with Dave Brubeck and the classic Dave Brubeck Quartet of the 50s and 60s, of which Paul Desmond was the alto saxophonist. The track is in the unusual time signature of 5/4 - a tricky one to master if you are not used to it. When "counting" it helps to count 1 2 3 1 2, rather than from 1 to 5, as the bar of 5/4 is split into to bits, one 3 beats long, the second part 2 beats long. Take Five was released on the album Time Out in the year 1959, and went on to become one of the most recognisable jazz hits of all time, as well as being a signature tune for Dave Brubeck. Just as Elton John cannot get away from playing Your Song in concerts, people will always want Dave Brubeck to play Take Five.
