Vibraphone Sheet Music / Score - Download and Print
The Vibraphone is the most gorgeous of instruments, producing both bright and mellow tones. It is used in bands, orchestras and smaller groups and particularly to great effect in Jazz.
The Hungarian Vibraphone player Tamas Teszary did a great set at the POSK in London in April 2018 playing songs from his album Bopcore.
The Vibraphone has an electric component to it which is the butterfly valves which are fans or blades that spin at the top of the pipes through which the sound is generated. This produces a vibrating sound from which the instrument gets its name. However, that effect is actually a Tremolo effect and so it perhaps should be a Tremophone.
One of the foremost British vibraphone players is Lewis Wright, who also plays the drums and is based in London.
