Promenade (Pictures at an Exhibition) (Modeste Mussorgsky) Sheet Music
Mussorgsky wrote the piano cycle Pictures at an Exhibition after visiting an exhibition of his friend, Victor Hartman. Each piece is a musical representation of a chosen painting, with The ballet of the Unhatched Chicks being a particularly vivid example of this. In between each picture, Mussorgsky placed a Promenade to represent the visitor's moving from one painting to the next. There are several Promenades, but they are all based on the same theme, and our arrangements incorporate all the themes of the different Promenades.

Pictures at an Exhibition was featured on the BBC's Play It Again TV program when Robert Winston tried to learn to play it on the Alto Sax.In the box below you will be able to preview our String Quartet arrangements of Promenade (Pictures at an Exhibition). The individual instrumental parts are included in the purchase of the full score of Promenade (Pictures at an Exhibition). You are of course able to preview the full score as well as the individual parts.
