Good King Wenceslas is a popular Christmas Carol about the Bohemian Duke Saint Wenceslaus I helping a poor man on St. Stephens' Day. John Mason Neale wrote the lyrics for Good King Wenceslas in 1853. The music for Good King Wenceslas is possibly based on a 13th Century spring carol Piae Cantiones. Here is the opening stanza of Good King Wenceslas:

Good King Wenceslas looked out on the Feast of Stephen,
When the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and even.
Brightly shone the moon that night, though the frost was cruel,
When a poor man came in sight, gathering winter fuel.
