Get Back is a Paul McCartney composition, featured on the final Beatles album Let It Be. The piece was initially released in 1969 as a single, and appeared in the following year on the album. The musician Billy Preston plays the electric piano on the recording. Preston had been invited to the studio by George Harrison to try and defuse the increasingly strong tensions within the band. This appears to have failed, as Harrison briefly left the band during the recording sessions, and the Beatles subsequently broke up one year later. Here is an excerpt from the lyrics:
