It is popular with barbershop quartets, and also sung at the US military academy in West Point. Love Me Tender (Aura Lee) reached the No. 1 Spot in the USA in November 1956, remaining there for five weeks. Elvis made history, as Love Me Tender had pushed the previous No.1, which was also an Elvis tune, of its position.
