This popular song, the words of which were penned by Robert Burns, is used all over the United Kingdom to welcome in the New Year. The opening lines are known by almost everyone but it gets a little tricker after that:

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?

The title "Auld Lang Syne" literally means "old long ago" although it is better translated as "time gone by".

You will find our version 2.5 of Auld Lang Syne Sheet Music a slower, more traditional rendition. By contrast, listen to the stride piano version 3 which is a good follow up when people are resting their voices.
