The Waltz from Swan Lake is one of several famous themes from the ballet Swan Lake written by the Russian composer Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky. The Waltz from Swan Lake is not to be confused with the “Theme from Swan Lake”, which is in minor, and a much more sombre piece. The Waltz from Swan Lake is, by contrast, a bright and breezy waltz. Swan Lake is probably one of the most well known ballets of all time, even though it appears to have been panned by the critics on the occasion of its premier. After the disappointing premier many different version of the Swan Lake have appeared, though this has not stopped the ballet, and the music in its own right, to become very popular indeed.
