Three Blind Mice Sheet Music
also known as 3 Blind Mice Sheet Music Artist and Writer: Traditional |
The origin of the words to the Three blind mice can be found in English
history. The 'farmer's wife' refers to Queen Mary I, a staunch
Catholic. Mary got the nickname 'Bloody Mary' for her persecution of the
Protestants in England. The 'three blind mice' in the song were three
Protestant noblemen who were convicted of plotting against Mary, who
had them executed.
Three blind mice, three blind mice,
See how they run, see how they run,
They all ran after the farmer's wife,
Who cut off their tails with a carving knife,
Did you ever see such a thing in your life,
As three blind mice?
