The Easy Winners was published in St. Louis in 1901. During his time in St. Louis Scott Joplin published several now popular pieces: The Strenuous Life, A Breeze from Alabama, Elite Syncopations and The Entertainer (all pubished in 1902). The Easy Winners is certainly less well-known than any of the previously mentioned Ragtimes, but amongst Ragtime aficionados, it is among the more popular pieces. As with all Ragtimes, the original version of The Easy Winners is difficult to play. We therefore recommend that unless you are a seasoned performer, you try one of the easier Levels of The Easy Winners.
