The Ash Grove Sheet Music
also known as The Ashgrove Sheet Music Artist and Writer: Traditional |
There have been many different lyrics written to the Welsh tune of The Ash Grove as its simple melody and tempo lends itself to new words so easily.
The Ash Grove is one of the few Welsh Folk songs that has become part of the
folk song heritage all over the world. According to Grove's Dictionary
of Music and Musicians, it appeared "in a mutilated form as "Cease Your
Funning" in John Gay's "The Beggar Opera" in 1728
