Pomp And Circumstance March No. 4 in G Opus 39 Sheet Music
also known as Opus 39, Op. 39 Sheet Music Artist and Writer: Edward William Elgar |
Pomp And Circumstance March No. 4 is one of five marches composed by Edvard Elgar. By far the most well-known of these is Pomp And Circumstance March No. 1,
the trio section of which was set to words by A C Benson and became
"Land Of Hope And Glory" (according to Elgar on the behest of His
Majesty King Edward VII, for the occasion of his coronation). Pomp And
Circumstance March No. 4 is similar in texture and emotional content to
its more famous sibling, and is probably the second most well known of
these marches. Its trio section was also set to words (during World War
2), this time by A P Herbert.
Level 3 features the main melody twice, with the second rendition
having a much fuller harmonisation and the main melody is an octave
higher.
Level 3.5 features the entire piece with the less well-known first section.
