Minute Waltz Sheet Music
also known as The Minute Waltz Minutenwalzer Waltz in D flat major", Opus 64, No. 1 Sheet Music Artist and Writer: Frederic Chopin (also known as Frédéric Chopin) |
The Minute Waltz ("Waltz in D flat major", opus 64, No. 1) is quite
possibly Chopin's most easily identifiable piece. Despite it's
nickname, the Minute Waltz actually takes more than a minute to
complete (a minute and a half to two minutes, depending on the speed).
In Great Britain the Minute Waltz is used as the signature tune for the
popular BBC Radio 4 show "Just A Minute". It appears that originally
Chopin intended the Minute Waltz to be called "Petit Chien" (Little
dog), as he wanted to music to sound like a dog chasing his own tail.
Technically the Minute Waltz is very challenging to play, so one of our
easier Levels may be a good starting point.
