Danse Russe Trepak (Nutcracker) Sheet Music
also known as Russian Dance Trepak, Russischer Tanz Trepak Nußknacker Sheet Music often mis-spelt as Danse Rusee Trepac Sheet Music Artist and Writer: Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky (also known as Pyotr Ilyich Tschaikovsky Chaykovski Chaikovsky) |
The Danse Russe Trepak is a composition featured in act two of Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky’s ballet The Nutcracker. A “Trepak” is a Russian dance in quick duple meter of Cossack origin. Many of the compositions featured in the Nutcracker have become famous in their own right, including the Russian Dance Trepak (Danse Russe Trepak). This piece is very fast-paced, and therefore tricky to play. Level 3.5 of Trepak includes some very tricky semiquaver passages in the left hand (on the second page - you can hear this on the playback). Level 3 has a simplification of this idea, which is considerably easier to play. Level 2.5 does not include the tricky and less well known middle section. Level 1.5 is relatively diffcult for this level, but does only contains 28 bars (without the repeat). The Danse Russe Trepak was famously featured in the motion picture “Home Alone”.
