Hava Nagila (Hava Nagilah, הבה נגילה) is a popular Hebrew folk song. Hava Nagila is a transliteration of Herbew and means “Let us rejoice”. Hava Nagila is often used during Jewish weddings, and a part of the staple repertoire of any Jewish bands. Hava Nagilah is probably the most universally well-known Hebrew song, and has been covered by artists so diverse as Harry Belafonte, Matt Monroe and Ben Folds.
