Zbigniew Preisner (pronounced [ˈzbigɲɛf ˈpɾajsnɛɾ]) (born May 20, 1955 in Bielsko-Biała as Zbigniew Antoni Kowalski) is one of Poland's leading film score composers, best known for his work with film director Krzysztof Kieślowski. He adopted his wife's surname after their marriage.[citation needed]
