Johann Pachelbel View Sheet Music for this Artist
  • a.k.a.: Johann Christoph Pachelbel
  • German
  • 1st September 1653 - 3rd March 1706
  • You might know him for: Canon in D Major, featured in the films, The Wedding Planner and Runaway Bride

Johann Pachelbel was a German composer and organist of the
Baroque era who is most widely known for his composition Canon in D Major (1680). The Canon in D Major has often been refreed to as the most popular "wedding tune". Strictly speaking the tune is not a cannon, but a passacaglia, as the cello part does not follow the pattern of a cannon (the three violin parts however, do follow the cannon form).
