The Graduation Song Sheet Music
also known as Pomp and Circumstance March No.1 Opus 39, Pomp an Circumstance Sheet Music Artist and Writer: Edward William Elgar |
The Graduation Song by Edward Elgar is in fact a section (the trio section to be precise) of the Pomp And Circumstance March No. 1 Opus 39 (a.k.a. as just Pomp And Circumstance). The custom of playing the trio section of the Pomp And Circumstance March No. 1 at graduation ceremonies in the USA and Canada appears to have been borne out of the fact that Edward Elgar was awarded an honorary doctorate at Yale University, and the orchestra performed Pomp And Circumstance March No. 1 for the ceremony. Before this event however, the trio section was set to words by A C Benson to become Land of Hope and Glory, which is a mainstay of the Last Night of the Proms.
Included below you will find our String Orchestra arrangements of The Graduation Song. If you buy the full score of The Graduation Song, you will also get all the individual instrumental parts. Each individual instrument will have multiple copies of their scores printed as indicated.
