Dance Of The Cygnets (Swan Lake) Sheet Music
also known as Tanz der kleinen Schwäne (Schwanensee), Dance of the little swans, Danse des petits cygnes Sheet Music Artist and Writer: Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky (also known as Pyotr Ilyich Tschaikovsky Chaykovski Chaikovsky) |
The Dance Of The Cygnets (Dance of the little Swans/Danse des petits cygnes) is a piece from Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky’s ballet Swan Lake
(Opus 20). Many of the pieces featured in Swan Lake have become famous
in their own right, featuring in numerous adverts, films and “best of”
classical CD compilations. Most of the titles from Swan Lake are given
French title, but in this case “Danse des petits cygnes” is usually
translated to either “Dance Of The Cygnets” or “Dance of the little
swans.”
Swan Lake was Tchaikovsky’s first ballet - premiering in 1877. By this
stage in his life he was already a seasoned composer, having already
written three symphonies and three operas. The premiere of Swan Lake
was a minor disaster, suffering from insufficient rehearsals and lack
of experienced performers. Consequently the ballet has been changed and
reworked repeatedly, both by Tchaikovsky and others, including his
brother, Modest. Despite all this Swan Lake is part of the standard
ballet repertoire, and the Dance Of The Cygnets (Dance of the little
Swans) is one of the most well known pieces of classical music today.
Level 3.5 is in the original key of F sharp minor.
All Levels below Level 3 have a simplification of the tricky demisemiquaver pattern of the second bar.
Level 1 is shorter than Level 1.5.
