Land Of Hope And Glory Sheet Music
also known as Pomp And Circumstance March No.1 Sheet Music Artist and Writer: Edward William Elgar |
Land Of Hope And Glory by Edward Elgar is in fact the trio section of Pomp And Circumstance March No. 1. It is one of the mainstays of the world famous Last Night of the Proms. A C Benson added words to the trio section, therefore creating Land of Hope and Glory. On the last night of the proms the whole March us played however, and the audience joins in for the trio section with the words of Land of Hope and Glory. In the USA and Canada the march is known as The Graduation Song, as it is played at graduation ceremonies. This custom was created when Elgar was awarded an honorary doctorate at Yale University, and the orchestra performed Pomp And Circumstance March No. 1 for the ceremony. Land Of Hope And Glory is also sometimes just known as Pomp And Circumstance.
