The Danse Des Mirlitons is a piece from the ballet The Nutcracker,
written by Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky. There are several alternate names
for the piece:
Dance Of The Reed-Flutes
Dance of the Reed-Pipes
The Nutcracker is one of the most performed ballets, and is considered
part of the standard ballet repertoire. The ballet, including the piece
“Danse Des Mirlitons”, was premiered in 1892 at the world-famous
Marrinski Theatre in St Petersburg. Many of the pieces featured in the
Nutcracker have become famous in their own right. Tchaikovsky himself
arranged the pieces into a separate suite:
