Lascia Ch'io Pianga is featured in Handel's Italian opera Rinaldo. Even
though the opera was successful during Handel's lifetime (it was first
performed at the Haymarket Theatre in 1711) it fell into obscurity until it was
re-discovered in the 1970's. Television viewers in England may recall
Lascia Ch'io Pianga being used in an advertisement for the store
Harrods.
