also known as Good King Wenceslas Sheet Music
Artist and Writer: Traditional
Good King Wencelas (Good King Wenceslas) is a traditional Christmas Carol. The words to have been written by John Mason Neale in 1853 for his publication Carols for Chrismastide. The music for Good King Wencelas is possibly based on a 13th Century spring carol Piae Cantiones. Here is the opening stanza:

Good King Wencelas looked out on the Feast of Stephen,
When the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and even.
Brightly shone the moon that night, though the frost was cruel,
When a poor man came in sight, gathering winter fuel.
