The gestation of Colplay was when Chris Martin Jonny Buckland decided to form a band in 1996. The two have done more than just write and play sings though. They both appeared in the film Shaun of the Dead, a zombie film starring Simon Pegg parts of which were filmed 200 metres from Great Scores headquarters, where they were playing supporters of a charity called Zombaid.

Their first album was Parachutes, proving that you don't have to name your first album(s) for yourself, and from that they released the single Yellow which was played around the world. We have over 20 arrangements of this song.

Coldplay's style of music is apparently "limestone rock" according to Chris Martin. This is named in comparison to "hard rock"of course.
